  • Each POV reacts to the same world events
  • Protests get bigger and bigger every day, soon they become a problem for the protags
  • The protests are the measure of time

Ambulance

• Worker bleeding out

• Ambulance comes to help

• Asks a million questions about insurance and business shit

  • “Do you have insurance?” “Would you like to buy some now?”

• Another ambulance arrives and argues with them about turf

  • “I’m gonna garrotte you with my stethescope you body stacking fuck!”

• As ambulance workers hold back their respective partners from a full-blown fistfight, the patient is bleeding to death on the ground

  • “…please…someone?” They mumble.

• Michael Peterson is later seen on the news talking about the work he does

  • Can’t be the second story, can’t be the third (PI) story, relegate it to the fourth story

Angry worker fails upwards

• Bedridden mum

• Downtrodden kind of life

  • Has to send the same email like 5 times “As per my last email”

• Fails upwards the more he lashes out

• Tells supervisor to basically go fuck themselves

• Gets taken under wing of old-timey exec who “Likes [his] spunk”

• Outmaneouvers other execs who want him gone, and eventually his mentor too

Private investigator

• Investigating murder from intro

• Phillip is everyman who’s a smooth talker, Abby is great at analysing situations

• Smooth talks his way past reception

  • Uses girlfriend to help bypass reception

• Murderer is bitter, depressed, loopy exec

• Shoots himself and falls out a window?

• Arc

  • Crime scene
  • Spill beans to cynical old lady, cool and down to earth
  • …
  • Talk with loony exec

• Story only starts and ends while phone call is happening

• Quippy Smooth talker (Weak to people he cares about, though, like his girlfriend)

• “I’ve got a case, an…old lady” “Oh no, not another one” “It’s different this time. There’s an actual case”

• Crazy exec has a gun

• Smashing sound on other side of door, coming from other story

Friendly Neighbourhood Arms Race

• First day is a nice gun
• One of the neighbours going to a seedy arms deal with a gang kingpin
• Shows off nicer gun to neighbour
• Other neighbour doing construction, neighbour
• Short chapters with passive aggressive neighbours showing off weapons
• One of the weapons accidentally goes off and badly affects another story

• Friend accuses friend of being undercover corpo agent, corpo agent posture changes immediately and becomes much more sinister
